This is a revived old 1980 Apollo 12 speed race bike that was hidden under a terrible pink paint job.
The whole set-up is original with the bike that was pulled out from under a house that hasn't been moved in over 10 years.
The size 54cm frame was paint stripped to bare metal, to reveal its true identity, and clear-coated before re-assembly.
Forks are original chrome.
Shimano dura-ace crank and bearings.
Shimano 600 series hidden bolt quill stem and derailer.
Shimano BioPace chain ring with master-linked chain.
Dia-Comp brake set.
27" Suzue hubs with quick release axles and original in-tact white nylon walled tires.
Cinelli handlebars with cork bar-end caps.
Custom antique cloth measuring-tape bar-wrap with shellac finish.
Suntour gear levers.
Re-upholstered San Marco saddle.
Sakae/Ringyo Melt.Forging Custom seat post.
French made Christophe toe clips.
The only things replaced were the cables and casings for safety and efficiency, while the wheels were trued and left original.
All in all it is a one of a kind show piece made for display whilst being fully functional with all parts cleaned, aligned, and greased for a smooth and fast ride. It is now no longer in use for show and will part with it for the right price. Have sourced an original badge and sticker set to replace those that were destroyed from the pink paint job it was found in. These include the original tin badge, red sticker and blue sticker sets, both in original mint condition from an old retailer.
Have a Brooks saddle in my other items that can be swapped with it for a discounted price.
